Free Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamps at USCA

Summary:
- This 4-week program (consisting of two independent courses) will provide instruction to IT students to prepare and pass exams for nationally recognized cybersecurity certifications.
- This “bootcamp” approach will engage USCA and CSRA-based students Augusta military, as well as high schoolers and non-traditional students to receive up to three cybersecurity certifications.
- The program offers two classes. Students may choose one or both classes.
- Both classes are suitable for students with a minimum of one programming or cyber course, or demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through an essay or interview.
- Classes will run in the month of June 2026.
Brief course descriptions and goals:
Cybersecurity Foundations (60 hours) June 8-19, 10 days @ 6 hours.
- After the first third of this course, students should have sufficient knowledge to pass ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity exam, to be taken after 20 hours of instruction.
- The next forty hours will cover the majority of the more ambitious CompTIA Security+ material, and a possibility of passing the exam with additional self-study and practice tests after completion of the course.
- CompTIA Security+ is considered the benchmark certification for entry-level employment.
- Classes will meet 5 times a week for 6 hours each, and students should expect at least 1 hour of homework and labs between classes and active engagement in class exercises.
- The cost of the training materials and exam voucher are covered.
- Students will have access to course materials for 1 year from enrollment.
- The purpose of the EC-Council DFE course is to develop basic competency and expertise in digital forensics.
- This certification is specifically designed for today’s entry-level information security or cybersecurity students.
- Students with good grasp of the material have good likelihood of passing the exam with minimal self-study, videos, and practice tests after completion of the course.
- Classes will meet 5 times a week for 5 hours each, and students should expect at least 1 hour of homework and labs between classes and active engagement in class exercises.
- The cost of the training materials and exam voucher are covered.
- Students will have access to course materials for 1 year from enrollment.
